The Brief: Verizon’s technology powers First Responders across America.

The Team That Wouldn’t Be Here is made up of 11 NFL players and 1 NFL coach who lived through life threatening accidents because of the medical assistance administered on the scene by first responders. With the help of each NFL team we identified our players and coach and then began the arduous task of researching to find their first responders.

We created a web series that ran in the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl. Each 5 min episode told the backstory of one player’s tragedy and how the their lives were saved by the heroics of the first responders. Then during the Super Bowl we ran our emotional Super Bowl spot, The Coach That Wouldn’t Be Here.

All 12 stories were then edited together to create a 30-minute documentary that aired the night after Super Bowl on CBS in primetime.
